Top MBA Colleges in India: List of Top Colleges, Fee Structure, Entrance Exam, Rankings

MBA stands for Master of Business Administration and revolves around managing and administering a business. It is a 2-year post-graduation course. MBA is also considered one of the more expensive business courses in India, but its popularity exists due to the value it provides for that cost.

The subjects taught under MBA are Management accounting, Financial accounting, Managerial economics, Marketing Management, Business ethics, and Strategic management.

One major exam for granting admission to MBA courses is the CAT exam. CAT is a national-level entrance exam that is considered for admission by almost every business college and business school. Other than that, a few other entrance exams grant admission into the MBA courses, which are CMAT and MAT. Different State-level and Institute-level examinations are also conducted to grant admissions into various Business colleges.

MBA is offered in both regular in-class and online/distance forms of education. Distance education means that a student can gain admission to a college and participate in classes from a different city or even from a different country through online classes.

Another type of MBA that has been popularized just recently in India is the Executive MBA. This is a foreign concept and is available only to working people who already have work experience of at least five years. Those who want to brush up their skills in particular or different specializations can choose this course.

For the past few years, every company or firm has demanded at least an MBA from the candidates who interview to be a manager or some other position in the management field. MBA has become a necessity nowadays for those who want to pursue management. A fresher's salary for candidates who have completed their MBA ranges from Rs. 5 Lakhs to 22 Lakhs. Many top companies provide great salary packages for MBA graduates.

The admission process has already started for some top MBA colleges in India, such as IIM.
