CMAT 2024 Exam: Dates, Registration, Syllabus, Pattern , Eligibility Criteria
CMAT exam 2024 will be conducted nationwide by the NTA in April or May 2024. CMAT is a moderately difficult exam. The CMAT cut-offs for admission are usually lower than CAT and XAT, so it is a popular preference among management aspirants. The CMAT is a national-level MBA entrance exam that is conducted at the end of the entrance exam season. NTA will announce the CMAT 2024 exam date, likely in the last week of January, and start CMAT 2024 registrations in February 2024.
What is CMAT?
Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is a business aptitude exam conducted by the National Testing Agency for admission to MBA/PGDM programs. The CMAT exam is one of the most popular MBA entrance exams in India. About 70,000 candidates appear for the CMAT every year. CMAT score is accepted by about 1,300 B-schools (government and private) in India, including Great Lakes Institute of Management, JBIMS, K J Somaiya Mumbai, Welingkar Mumbai, SIMSREE, and PUMBA. The CMAT question paper consists of 100 questions from General Awareness, Quantitative Techniques and Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation, Language Comprehension, and Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

CMAT Eligibility Criteria
Before applying for the CMAT 2024 exam, students must confirm that they meet the following eligibility criteria:
- The aspirant must have completed graduation or equivalent degree from a recognised university.
- Final-year graduation students are also eligible to apply for CMAT 2024, but they must present the passing certificate at admission.
- There are no minimum score percentage criteria in graduation for the CMAT exam.
CMAT Registration 2024
The NTA will release the CMAT registration 2024 form on its website in February 2024. Candidates must complete the application form by creating a login ID at the CMAT-NTA website. The CMAT 2024 registration cum application process includes the following steps:
- Register online by entering your name, birth date, email ID and phone number at https://cmat.nta.nic.in/
- Create a CMAT account and user ID by confirming registration via OTP/e-mail.
- Fill out the CMAT application form by furnishing personal and academic details.
- Uploading passport-size photo and scanned signature in a prescribed format.
- Payment of the registration fees via credit/debit card or internet banking
CMAT Admit Card 2024
CMAT 2024 admit card will be released on the NTA website about 2-3 days before the exam. Candidates can download the CMAT admit card using their login credentials. Given below is the procedure to download the CMAT admit card 2024 from the NTA website:
- Visit the CMAT-NTA website: cmat.nta.nic.in
- Click on the 'CMAT 2024 Admit Card' tab
- Enter the application number and birth date or password
- Click on submit to log in to your account
- Fill out the self-declaration form to go to the admit card
- Download the CMAT admit card as PDF
CMAT Exam Day Guidelines
Candidates appearing for the CMAT exam must prepare well for not only the exam but also the exam day. Here are some points that they must keep in mind for the exam day:
- Do not forget to carry two printouts of your CMAT admit card. Digital, scanned, or photocopy of the admit card is not acceptable as a valid document.
- Reach your CMAT exam centre at the reporting time mentioned in your admit card. The gates will close 15 minutes before the commencement of the exam, and no entry will be allowed after that.
- Do not carry electronic items such as phones, wristwatches, pagers, calculators, iPads, etc., to the exam venue. You are also advised not to carry any valuable items.
- Along with the CMAT admit card, candidates must carry a photo ID as a secondary identity proof. You can carry any of the following documents as an ID proof:
- Aadhaar card
- PAN card
- Voter ID card
- Passport
- Driver's license
- College/University ID card
CMAT Syllabus 2024
CMAT exam syllabus is similar to other MBA entrance exams. The NTA prepares it on the advice of AICTE. Given below are the main components of the latest CMAT syllabus:
- Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation: 20 questions
- Logical Reasoning: 20 questions
- Language Comprehension: 20 questions
- General Awareness: 20 questions
- Innovation & Entrepreneurship: 20 questions
Every question on CMAT carries 4 marks, and there is a negative marking of -1 mark for every wrong attempt.
