Which college is best for doing LLB?
Tamil Nadu has 61 college Law courses. Among them, 31 colleges are private, and 19 are owned by the public/government. The Law courses offered by the colleges can be studied full-time, online, part-time, and distance/correspondence. Law education in Tamil Nadu follows the same framework as in the rest of India. The legal education system in Tamil Nadu is governed by the Bar Council of India (BCI), which is the regulatory body for legal education and the legal profession in the country.
Eligibility Criteria
UG Law courses
- Integrated LLB: Candidates can pursue courses such as BA LLB, BBA LLB, and BSc LLB after passing Class 12 with a minimum of 45-50 percent aggregate. There is no age bar for the course.
- LLB: Candidates can also pursue the UG degree in Law after passing graduation in any stream with a minimum 50-55 percent aggregate. There is no age bar for the course.
- Diploma: Candidates can pursue diploma courses in Law after passing Class 12 from a recognized school
- Certificate: Some colleges in Tamil Nadu also offer certificate Law courses that candidates can pursue after passing Class 12 or 10
PG Law courses
- LLM: Candidates can pursue a one-year or two-year LLM course after completing LLB or integrated LLB from a recognized college or university. There is no age bar for the course.
- PG Diploma: Candidates can also pursue a PG diploma in Law after possessing an LLB degree from a recognized college or university. There is no age bar.
