Abhijat Sheth, president of the National Board of Examinations for Medical Sciences, told ANI that the   National Eligibility Entrance Test for Postgraduates (NEET PG), 2024, is likely to be announced next week .  The decision was taken after a meeting with officials from the Union Health Ministry and NBEMS to evaluate the situation and give feedback to the government. The NBEMS cancelled the NEET PG exam 2024 just 12 hours prior to the scheduled date, June 23, due to the controversy surrounding the NEET UG leak. The NEET PG exam 2024 was originally scheduled for March 3, but then was postponed until July 7. The National Medical Commission (NMC), however, postponed this exam to June 23, due to the Rath Yatra, which had also been cancelled after the NEET UG controversy. The next date for the NEET PG exam will be announced this week . The exam was postponed on Saturday morning, 12 hours before the scheduled date. The NEET PG, an entrance examination conducted by the National Board of Examination (NBE) to determine eligibility for admission to postgraduate medical programs in govt and private medical colleges across the country, was postponed on Saturday, less than 12 hours before it was scheduled to be held. NBE president Dr Abhijat Sheth told TOI they are working closely to ensure the exam happens soon. "We should be able to decide the exam date by this week," Dr Sheth said. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has activated the link for candidates to take mock tests for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET PG) 2024.   Candidates who are registered for the exam and want to take a mock exam can visit the official NBEMS website at nbe.edu.in. NEET PG 20204 is scheduled to take place on June 23, 2024 at different exam centres throughout the country. According to the official website, the admit card for NEET PG 2024 will be released on June 18, 2024, and the result will be declared by July 15, 2024. The Supreme Court on Tuesday issued notice to the centre and NTA, or National Testing Agency, over a petition seeking to cancel results of the NEET-UG 2024 - an ultra-competitive entrance test for undergraduate medical courses - amid allegations the paper was leaked.  "It is not that simple... that because you have done it (held the exam) it is sacrosanct," the court told the NTA, "Sanctity of (the examination) has been affected... so we need answers."  The court, though, said counselling for admissions will continue. Justices Vikram Nath and Ahsanuddin Amanullah said, "We are not stopping counselling". The matter was then posted to July 8 and will be heard with a plea filed before Chief Justice DY Chandrachud.
